This antique Empire gilded wood carved mirror is crafted with finely detailed lime wood fret carvings, featuring a regal mercury mirror plate, foxing circa 1850-1900, and exceptional condition. The lime wood provides remarkably intricate scrollwork, and the gold gilding suits the patterned carvings perfectly. For wall hanging, the top is outfitted with a torch frame, while the bottom center features a discernible serpentine carving. The foxed finish of the mirror plate provides an attractive weathered texture, but none of the visible foxing is dark or black. Each reflectively beautiful piece is secured with a hanging chain, ideal for mounting with a secure fixation or a pair of mirror plates.
