My interest in antiques began in my early 20s, when I regularly attended early morning fairs alongside a close friend who was an experienced antique dealer. This early exposure sparked a lifelong passion for antique furniture and decorative pieces.
C.E.S Home & Garden is a market-leading sales and delivery business, working in close partnership with our specialist sister courier company, Direct Class 1 Driver Limited. This dedicated service ensures that every item we sell is handled with care and delivered safely by professionals from start to finish. Delivery dates and estimated time windows are always confirmed with each customer, and all statuary items can be carefully positioned in your desired location upon arrival.
C.E.S was established in 2017 by myself, Richard Oultram. I bring over 30 years of experience in antique furniture and statuary, including sourcing, selling, and refurbishing. My career began as a time-served electrical craft apprentice with British Rail, followed by 20 years in the transportation sector with companies such as DHL and UPS. This combined experience has been invaluable in developing our courier operations, particularly in route planning, allowing us to provide accurate delivery schedules and reliable time windows for our customers.
Over the past decade, we have built extensive industry knowledge and a strong network of contacts through regular attendance at antique fairs and collaboration with a wide range of dealers. This enables us to offer a diverse selection of furniture and decorative pieces, alongside our trusted courier services.
We operate from a furniture showroom located in Brownlow, Congleton (CW12), and a garden nursery in Biddulph, Stoke-on-Trent (ST8), where our statuary products are displayed.
We also have many years of experience in packing and shipping fragile items, including contemporary ceramics. All items are carefully wrapped using tissue and bubble wrap, and transported in our specialist reinforced plastic crates to ensure maximum protection.
Our courier service covers mainland United Kingdom on a 3–4 week cycle:
